10 ways to upgrade to your most confident self

Do you often find yourself struggling with low self-esteem or wishing you had more self-confidence? Self-confidence is vital in helping us to live the kind of life that we want, as we are more likely to pursue the relationships and opportunities that are presented to us. In this blog post I will be sharing 10 ways you can upgrade to your most confident self today.


  1. Understand that you are a unique individual.

    There is no-one else like you in the world that has your personality and unique blend of talents and strengths. You are truly one of a kind! Knowing what sets us apart shows us that we are irreplaceable and have high value and worth.


  1. Become more self-aware.

    Get to know your strengths by writing a list of what positive personality traits and skills you have and admire about yourself. Revisit this list any time you feel yourself slipping back into low self-esteem. Sometimes we need that a gentle reminder of what we have to offer.


  1. Work on any self-limiting beliefs and your self-concept.

    Self limiting beliefs are any negative and unhelpful thoughts we might have about ourselves and our self-concept is the way that we see ourselves. If you can, try to figure out where these thoughts are coming from, why you may feel that way, and challenge them. We can then replace these self-limiting beliefs with more positive and helpful ones through using positive affirmations.


  1. Listen to positive affirmations.

    In particular, affirmations that focus on building self-love, self-acceptance and self-confidence. You can listen to these affirmations even as you are sleeping. This is a way to rewire our mind to believe more positive and true beliefs about ourselves.  


  1. Listen to upbeat and uplifting music.

    You can even have a a little dance party whilst listening to it. This is all about raising our energy levels to reach a higher mood and state of being and therefore helping us to feel more self-confident.


  1. Move your body.

    Exercise is known to improve mood and how we feel about ourselves. This can take any form. Even low impact exercise such as walking is really effective. It helps our confidence levels just to get the body moving in some way.


  1. Wear clothes that make you feel comfortable, confident and the most you.

    Clothing is a powerful way to make a statement and a means of self-expression.


  1. Spend time with uplifting, encouraging people and limit time with negative influences. Try to surround yourself with individuals who celebrate your wins and remind you of who you are during hard times. And always remember to be this person to yourself also.


  1. Practice self-compassion.

    Try to be kind to yourself, the way a friend would be to you even if you make a mistake.


  1. Dare to dream.

    We are much more confident people when we pursue our dreams and passions in life!


These are 10 ways that I have raised my self-confidence and self-esteem in my daily life and really hope that they help you to do the same.
